Happy Half Birthday!

Jack is now six months old. I can't believe it's been half a year! He was so small when we brought him home, 7 lbs 9 oz and 20 inches long, actually 7 lb 5 oz (he lost a little weight in the hospital).
Now he's coming up on 19 lbs and he's 27 inches long.
Below are some pictures of Jack on his changing table to give you an idea of how big he's gotten.
This is right after we brought him home.

This is around six weeks old.

This was a couple of weeks ago!

In so many ways, I still see my sweet newborn in him. After the colic, he actually started to cuddle more and still does. He still has the same sweet smile that he did when he was three weeks old. He still loves to eat and he still has that temper (we just don't see it as often).

Many things have changed however. He eats oatmeal, sweet peas, carrots, squash, green beans, sweet potatoes, sucks on frozen mangos and bananas. He can roll both ways and bounce in his jumperoo. He's starting to reach for us. He loves to babble and make funny noises with his mouth. He laughs every time he sneezes. The list goes on and on.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the next six months will be marked with greater accomplishments than the first. I'll never have my newborn again, but I thank God every day that I have a healthy, happy, thriving little boy.

Baby Burrito

This evening while Jack was playing on the floor he managed to do this:

Jack's Morning

Jack had a great morning today.
First he talked with mommy for a while.

Then he ate a bug!

After that, he watched the fishies while mommy made his oatmeal.

Finally, it was time to chow down.

All in all, it was a great morning.

Sesame Street

Today while we were watching Sesame Street, I had the idea to look for the Elmo's world song on the Internet. Jack loves Elmo and recently has become infatuated with all the muppets. I think it's their big, googly eyes. I came across this awesome website with a ton of Sesame Street songs (new and old) available to download as MP3's. Just right click on the song and choose "Save target as..". My personal favorites are "Furry Happy Monsters" and "I don't want to live on the moon". I chose a mere 38 of my favorites and made them into a CD for Jack. I've included the link below. I know Will's mommy and daddy are going to LOVE this.
